2026 World Cup: Full List of Qualified Teams by Confederation (Updated)
The road to the 2026 FIFA World Cup is taking shape with 32 national team already booking their tickets to the expanded 48 team tournament set to take place from 11 June to 19 July 2026 in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Below is the complete breakdown of qualified teams by confederation.
AFC – Asia (8 Teams)
Asia will also have one additional slot available via the inter continental playoffs where Iraq & the UAE are still alive.
CAF – Africa (9 Teams)
Africa also retains one additional inter continental playoff berth.
CONMEBOL – South America (6 Teams)
South America receives one playoff slot as well.
OFC – Oceania (1 Team)
(+ one playoff spot)
UEFA – Europe (5 Teams)
Europe will ultimately send 16 nation to the World Cup — meaning 11 more place will be filled during upcoming European qualifiers & playoffs.
